SYRACUSE -- Anyone who bleeds Orange - player, coach, family member, or fan - knows just how painful that first round tournament loss to Vermont was in 2005.
The Catamounts ended what seemed like a Final Four caliber team's season. But as fate would have it, five years later, the Orange are a #1 seed and will meet Vermont once again in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
We've talked to players who said they want payback, but how about some Orange legends. We spoke with John Wallace, who was at Corcoran High School Wednesday morning speaking to ninth and tenth graders about how important it is to stay focused in the classroom.
Wallace led the Orangemen to the Final Four in 1996, losing to Kentucky in the national championship game.
Wallace spoke his mind about how much Friday's game against Vermont (9:40 p.m. on WTVH CBS-5) means to him as an SU alum that still bleeds Orange.
