SYRACUSE -- Syracuse University is inviting basketball fans to come to the Carrier Dome Wednesday for practice sessions for the four teams that made it to the East Regionals being held at the dome Thursday and Saturday.

Syracuse University is proud to host the 2010 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Syracuse Regional in the Carrier Dome beginning Wednesday, March 24 through Saturday, March 27, 2010. The following information is intended to make your attendance at this NCAA Championship event as smooth as possible.
Open Practices – Wednesday, March 24, 2010 – 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
The community is invited to attend the open practice session. There is no admission charge. If you plan to attend any of the open practice sessions, there will be free parking and shuttle buses running from the Skytop parking lot. The Carrier Dome will open at 11:00 am and close after the last practice at 4 pm. Concessions and merchandise stands will be open throughout the Dome.
The Wednesday, open practice schedule is as follows:
11:00 am: Carrier Dome gates open
12:00 pm: Washington
1:00 pm: Cornell
2:10 pm: West Virginia
3:10 pm: Kentucky
Tickets
Tickets for both sessions of the Syracuse Regional are still available for $148 at the Carrier Dome Box Office. Subject to availability, individual session tickets - $74 for Thursday's semifinal doubleheader and $74 for Saturday's Regional final will be sold beginning Wednesday, March 24th at 10 am at the Carrier Dome Box Office at Gate B.
Every person, regardless of age, must have a ticket or valid credential to enter the Carrier Dome for this NCAA Championship event. The price of tickets or parking will not be refunded for any reason.

Thursday, March 25 - Regional Semifinal Doubleheader:
Carrier Dome gates open at 6:00 pm.
1st Game - Tip-off at 7:27 pm - Washington vs. West Virginia
2nd Game - Cornell vs. Kentucky - tip-off approximately 30 minutes after first game ends.
Friday, March 26 – The Carrier Dome is CLOSED
Saturday, March 27 – Regional Championship
Two Hours prior to tipoff Carrier Dome Gates Open
TBA - Regional Championship Game (game time will be announced on Thursday after the Regional Doubleheader)
Transportation
The NCAA and Syracuse University STRONGLY URGE you to arrive early as possible in order to avoid any traffic delays, as we expect a crowd in excess of 25,000. If you have pre-purchased NCAA Regional parking passes use either downtown Exit 18 of I-81, or as an alternative use the Teall Ave Exit 14 of I-690 for north and east campus lots, or the Brighton Ave Exit 17 of I-81 or Exit 1 off I-481 to get to Skytop or Manley.
In addition, free bus service from the Connective Corridor will be available, providing transportation between Downtown Syracuse and the Carrier Dome. The drop off and pick up locations for the NCAA shuttles will be on Fayette St., Franklin St. and Fayette St./Clinton St. intersections (shuttle stops will be fully sign-posted). Convention & Visitors Bureau volunteers will be wearing bright orange jackets and/or carrying “?” signs to help visitors get to and from the Carrier Dome.
NOTE:
SU Basketball season parking passes are not valid for this NCAA Championship event.
Security
Due to tighter security requirements, the following items are prohibited at all sessions of the 2010 NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship: all large bags, backpacks, duffel bags, artificial noisemakers, air horns, electronic instruments, laser pointers, large signs, (small, one person signs are permissible as long as they can be held by one individual, do not block anyone’s view and are in good taste), flags, banners, promotional items with commercial slogans, logos, such as newspapers, handbills, flyers, etc., all firearms, explosives, bottles, cans, coolers or other containers, except in cases of medical needs certified by a physician. Other items may also be added to this list to ensure your safety.
Please do not bring any of these items to the Carrier Dome. Smaller articles will be subject to physical search at all open gates for every session of the Syracuse Regional, including the open practice day on Wednesday, March 24. There will not be a checkroom for prohibited items and you will be instructed to return to your home, hotel or vehicle to store any prohibited items. Also, there will not be trash receptacles placed outside the Carrier Dome.
The following items WILL BE permitted to be brought inside the Carrier Dome at all sessions of the Syracuse Regional (including the open practice day on Wednesday, March 24): Small purses, binoculars (and cases), non-professional still cameras (and cases), stadium seat cushions, cellular phones, pagers, and small “Walkman type” televisions and radios.
Video cameras are permitted on the Wednesday open practice day, but ARE NOT permitted on the Thursday and Saturday days of competition. Patrons with any of these items should expect to be asked by security search personnel to step out of the ingress line and have the items inspected. We ask that you please cooperate with all security personnel, as it is in everyone’s best interest to do so.
