SYRACUSE -- Forward Nicole Michael has been named an honorable-mention All-American by the Associated Press. The Associated Press selects first, second and third-team All-Americans, as well as the honorable mention picks. Michael was one of 31 honorable-mention performers.
Michael helped guide the Orange to the WNIT quarterfinals. Syracuse was 25-11 overall and finished tied for eighth in BIG EAST with a 7-9 league mark.
She started all 35 games in which she appeared and ranked first on the club in scoring with 14.3 points per game. She also topped the squad in rebound per game (7.8), 3-point baskets made (58) and 3-point field goal percentage (.341). Michael tallied a team-high 25 double-figure point games, including a team-best 15 15-plus point games and a team-high five 20-plus point contests.
Michael is the only player in program history to twice reach the 500-point plateau, accomplishing the feat during both her senior and freshman seasons. She finished her career as SU’s all-time leading scorer (1787) and rebounder (996).
