CORTLAND (AP) -- An upstate college town has 4.26 million reasons to like Monday's announcement by the New York Jets.
Officials with the NFL team were in Cortland to announce their plans to conduct their training camp at SUNY-Cortland for at least the next three years.
The Jets held their first training camp at Cortland last summer, and Gov. David Paterson's office says the team attracted more than 34,000 spectators to the campus and generated $4.26 million dollars in economic activity in Cortland County.
SUNY-Cortland plans to spend more than $300,000 to improve the practice facilities and residence hall where the team's coaches stay.
Jets camp opens in early August.
