BALTIMORE (AP) - Notre Dame earned a berth in the NCAA men's lacrosse title game for the first time, defeating Cornell 12-7 Saturday to add to its run of tournament upsets.
Neal Hicks scored four goals, Zach Brenneman had three and goaltender Scott Rogers stopped 16 shots for the Fighting Irish, the first unseeded team since Massachusetts in 2006 to earn a spot in the championship game.
Notre Dame (10-6) will play for its first NCAA lacrosse title Monday against the winner of the semifinal game between Virginia and Duke.
