(AP) -- It was a busy prom night for Corcoran, especially if you were a member of the Cougars lacrosse team. Before they could pin any Corsages, they'd have to face the West Genesee Lacrosse team in the Class A Section III Championship Game.
It was Corey Harrington who actually looked like he was in a hurry to get to the prom early on, scoring the first 3 goals for the Wildcats, en route to an 8-3 championship victory. Dylan Donahue scored the final two goals for the Wildcats, who won their 30th all-time section III championship. Future SU Lacrosse player James Cathers was held to one goal and an assists in a losing cause.
West Genesee will now meet Ithaca at Union-Endicott this coming Tuesday night, a rematch with the very team who upset the Wildcats in last years State regional game.
