SYRACUSE -- The Onondaga Community College women's basketball team enjoyed a second marvelous season in a row, finishing 35-1 and making it to the National Championship game. The Lazers received plenty of fan support through their run, and now that it's the off-season the team was hoping for some financial support as well.
The captain-and-crew golf outing at Tanner Valley Golf Club marked the sixth year in a row this event has been held. It featured your typical long drive and closest to the pin contests, and even a marshmallow-drive contest where, as you can imagine, players had a fun time trying to long-drive a marshmallow.
For OCC coach Mike Wheeler, the event is evidence of just how much support the community offers to the Lazers, and that is something Wheeler is truly grateful for.
