LAS VEGAS, NV -- In his unofficial NBA debut, Andy Rautins played over 30 minutes, the second most out of anyone on the New York Knicks, and scored 11 points in a losing effort.
Rautins nailed three 3-pointers on 8 attempts, he was 4-11 from the field overall. The Knicks were led in scoring by Toney Douglas who tallied 27 total points. The Knicks fell to Denver 100-90.
The game had an all-Central New York feel to it. While he didn't see action, Ryan Wittman is now a member of the Knicks Summer League team, after having recently spent some time with the Boston Celtics.
Also, Le Moyne grad Laurence Ekperigin was on the opposite bench for the Nuggets, an odd twist of fate after his Dolphins upset Rautins' Orange in an exhibition game last November.
Ekperigin's only two points in the game came when Rautins fouled him in the act of shooting, and he converted both free throws.
