WEEDSPORT -- No more sleepless nights as DIRTcar Racing Northeast’s Second Annual All-Star Weekend has finally arrived with Brewerton Speedway and the Cayuga County Fairgrounds coming to life for three straight nights of high-powered, pedal-mashing oval track excitement plus plenty of family entertainment with the Big-Block Modified winners on Saturday sharing $20,000 from the record posted purse of $100,000.

Looking back at the inaugural edition of DIRTcar All-Star Weekend staged at the home of DIRTcar Racing Northeast, highlights from last year’s historic event will be recalled in anticipation of the return of the richest race ever scheduled during the summer at the popular Route 31 oval.

Last year he came to Cayuga County and conquered …. twice. Inaugural All-Star 100 winner Ryan Phelps will be back in defense of his coveted crown yet so will dozens of other top open-wheel teams from throughout the area as the second edition of All-Star Weekend leads off today at Brewerton. Phelps will be among 20 of the best Big-Blockers in the business seated at the head table on Saturday when the Cayuga County Club House hosts a truly star-studded autograph session beginning at 5:00 pm.

Invited to participate in the first-ever assemblage of its kind are Jeff Brownell Jr., Billy Decker, Billy Dunn, Justin Haers, Brett Hearn, Alan Johnson, Danny Johnson, Steve Paine, Jimmy Phelps, Ryan Phelps, Dale Planck, Rich Scagliotta, Tom Sears Jr., Matt Sheppard, Michael Storms, Gary Tomkins, Larry Wight and Lance Willix II plus popular Pennsylvanians Jeremiah Shingledecker and Richie Tobias Jr., winner of the 1992 Super DIRT Week Syracuse 200. Ryan Phelps, 2009 Super DIRTcar Week Syracuse 200 champion Sheppard and former child actor turned DIRTcar racer Storms will also be signing autographs on Friday in the adjacent Northeast Modified Hall of Fame, while seven-time Super DIRTcar Series Champion Hearn, current SDS points leader Decker and local Series hotshoe Jimmy Phelps are slated to be in the HoF to meet and greet fans on Saturday; both days activity running from 1-1:30 p.m.
