Breanna Stewart made Central New York proud Sunday in the FIBA Under 17 World Championships.

The C-NS junior scored 8 points in Team USA's 92-62 win over France in the gold medal game.

Her family in North Syracuse watched every second of the game as they cheered Breanna and the US on.

They say they couldn't be prouder of her.

"We're just unbelievably proud, the whole family, the neighbors," Breanna Stewart's grandfather, Jim Baldwin says. "Everybody is following her and what a ride she's given us and what an opportunity she's had."

They look forward to many more special moments. Stewart is only 15 and will be eligible to play on the team for another two years.
