WASHINGTON, DC -- Brine is voluntarily recalling about 7,000 youth and adult Brine VIP Lacrosse Gloves.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reports the screen printing ink used on the gloves contain excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.
The recall involves black and white Brine VIP lacrosse gloves sold in three sizes: 10, 12 and 13 inches. The name "Brine" is printed in white and a silver triad symbol is printed on the back of the glove on the wrist cuff. They were sold in sporting goods stores nationwide between July 2009 and June 2010 for about $50.
There have been no injuries reported. If you or your child has the product, you are urged to stop using it immediately and contact Brine for a replacement or refund.
You can call Brine toll-free at (888) 542-8834 between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, or visit the company's website at http://www.brine.com/recall.
