SYRACUSE --
The Syracuse University football team's offense seems to have responded to Head Coach Doug Marrone's concerns heading into the weekend.
Marrone told the media after Fan Fest on Friday that he was not happy with the effort put forth by the offense, and that the unit had a "long way to go". There was a different tune coming from the head coach heading into this week. In fact, following Monday's practice he felt the offense actually had the edge on the defense.
"We need to be more competitive with each other," said Marrone, "and not so up and down, and that's how we'll become a better football team."
"We're getting fired up," said junior quarterback Ryan Nassib, "all of us are in there, we know what our goal is and we realize we can't have another day like that (Friday)"
Monday was the first of two straight days of "two-a-days".
