Solvay Football is one of the proudest teams around with a rich tradition. When the players enter the pit at Earl Hadley Stadium and put on the orange and blue, they know what they're signing up for. Solvay is hoping to restore that Bearcat roar, after making it to the Class B Section III Semifinals in 2007, the team didn't make the playoffs in 2008.
2009 though, could've been the start of the resurgence, Solvay posted a big win over 2nd seeded Chittenango in the first round of the Sectional Playoffs. And while they fell in the semifinals to Marcellus, the team returns stars in Taylor DelPeruto among several others. As always though Class B will be super-competitive as V-V-S looks very strong as does the defending champions from Westhill.
You can bet though, the Bearcats aren't looking at the other teams in their league, they know what they have to do in 2010.
