With SU football season less than a week away excitement is at a fever pitch. One reason why is the play of the linebackers, and really the defense as a whole. If you look at the Orange's defense, which returns 9 starters, it's hard to tell which position is best because all three facets between the line, the linebackers, and the secondary all boast some great players.
Earlier in the week we caught up with Linebackers Coach Dan Conley, a legendary Orange linebacker in his own right, Conley likes what he sees in this years corps. Conley mentions that he's seen Doug Hogue and other upperclassmen helping the younger players break down film and helping them along the way.
Of course Monday officially kicks off "game week" for the Orange, Conley says he can't wait to get into game planning and letting the players know who's in the "two-deep" or the top two spots on the depth chart. Conley says thats a luxury for players, in fact he was informed of his role the night before the season opening game against USC in the Kickoff Classic.
