It was a great night for Liverpool football fans, even if their Warriors lost 47-20 to Baldwinsville. For the first time since 2007 the Liverpool Football team played a home game on its campus on Wetzel Road. The old artificial turf stadium was condemned, and after months of extreme efforts, the result is a brand new, state of the art stadium with "A-Turf" and new bleachers.

So now you can understand why despite a 27-point loss, it's a great time to be a Liverpool Warrior. The team for the last 23 home games has had to play at other high schools like Solvay or Central Square, last year the team was fortunate enough to play in the Carrier Dome. The experience though of being able to walk outside of their school and  see the field, a luxury probably taken for granted by many schools, was something the team needed.

It looked like the game would be just as wonderful for Warrior fans at first, with The 'Pool taking a 14-0 lead thanks to scores from Tyland Thompson and Elijah Johnson. But the Bees rolled off 47 points in a row, thanks in part to an incredible effort from sophomore running back Tyler Rouse, who ran for over 300 yards and two touchdowns. The Bees advance to play Nottingham at home next Friday, Liverpool hopes to get on the winning track hosting Central Square.
