SYRACUSE --
The Henninger Black Knights may be 1-and-3 on the season, but don't let that record fool you. A very young and raw Black Knights team is coming off two losses where they held their own against some very talented teams, including a 35-31 loss to Utica Proctor. The grit they showed in that game should be great experience heading into this week's Saturday tilt with the Corcoran Cougars. The Cougars are a perfect 4-and-0 on the season, and potentially the toughest test Henninger has faced this year so far.
"(They are a) city rival, it's always a big game," says Kline, "Corcoran is big, strong and physical this year, they're probably the most dominant line next to B-ville that I've seen out there."
But Coach Kline is trying not to concentrate on Corcoran's obvious talent level, but rather set the attention on his team and their goals moving forward.
"Our big thing is us getting better this year. We're not looking at our next opponent, obviously you prepare for that opponent, but it's about Henninger High School Football getting better, and that's what we're trying to get the kids to understand and do."
