Alexis Koval has been scoring goals at a furious pace ever since she stepped foot on the field for CBA.
The reigning CNY player of the year entered the season with 85 goals, with the century mark in her sights.
She reached that milestone on Saturday.
Koval scored the 99th and 100th goals of her career against the F-M Hornets, and it came as a bit of a surprise to her.
"I wasn't thinking about it and when I scored the second goal, I was like, 'Oh my God, I just scored my 100th goal.' My team was really supportive and everything," Koval said.
And her teammates are exactly who she gives the credit to for her success, though her teammates and coach say talent has a lot to do with it.
Koval became the first CBA girl's soccer player to score 100 goals in her career.
But it's not just about scoring for Koval. She's also a great leader.
CBA head coach Mike McQuatters says having Alexis on the field is a coach's dream come true.
"My job is a lot easier having her on the field," McQuatters says. "She's an extension of the coaching staff on the field. I can look to her at any moment to lead the team."
Koval is choosing between Syracuse and Stony Brook to play soccer in college. But before that, Koval and CBA will be looking to get back to the state championship game, and send Koval out a winner.
Congratulations to this week's CNY Central Athlete, presented by Bryant and Stratton College.
