GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - The Green Bay Packers have acquired safety Anthony Smith in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars, a person with knowledge of the deal tells The Associated Press.

The person, who requested anonymity because the deal has not been announced, said the Jaguars will receive a conditional seventh-round draft pick in exchange for Smith. The deal was reported by ESPN earlier Sunday night.

The Packers are desperate for safety help after injuries to Atari Bigby and Morgan Burnett. The Packers signed Smith as a free agent in 2009 but cut him before the start of the season.
