CAZENOVIA -- This week's Bryant & Stratton College CNY Central Athlete comes to us from Cazenovia, where she's leading the Lakers through quite the challenge.
Lizzy Reed is a senior on the girls volleyball team. Typically, Caz plays in the spring against schools closer to their size but in the spring the playoffs end at regionals, there's no state title game to be had. So this year Lizzy and her fellow seniors decided they wanted to go for it all, even if that meant playing against schools much bigger than their own like Fayetteville-Manlius and Cicero-North Syracuse, among others.
It's that leadership and determination that makes Lizzy special. She excels on the court leading the team in kills per game as well as digs per contest. She's outstanding in the classroom as well with an average in the 90's and that in turn has led to her looking at several prestigious colleges and universities.
No doubt, with those intangibles on and off the court, if Cazenovia makes it to states Lizzy Reed will be a huge part of the equation.
