It was a great scene at Varsity on the SU Hill as the entire Orange Football team converged on the historic spot to flip the West Virginia banner upsides down, officially signifying the Orange's win over one of its biggest rivals.

Orange fans packed the place as Derrell Smith struggled a bit at first to hang the banner upsides down, but when he did the crowd erupted, and for good reason.

Syracuse ended its 8-game losing streak to West Virginia and brought home the Schwartzwalder Trophy for the first time since 2001.

2001 was also the last time SU was 5-2, and the team only needs two more wins for bowl eligibility.
