The Syracuse University women's basketball team is reaping the benefits of a high profile upset this past weekend.
On the heels of their upset over #6 Ohio State on Saturday, the Orange women have vaulted into the AP top 25, landing at #24. The 8-0 Orange face another big challenge next week when they take on #2 Baylor in the Bahamas Sunsplash Shootout on Dec. 21 at 8:15 p.m.
An other news, SU senior Erica Morrow earned Big East Weekly Honor Roll recognition for her performances in SU's 2-0 week. It is the first weekly mention of the season and the third career Big East Honor Roll nod for Morrow, who was named to the Preseason All-Big East Honorable Mention squad prior to the season.
With her 27-point performance against the Buckeyes, Morrow moved into fourth all-time on the career scoring charts with 1,415 points. The Brooklyn native averaged 19.0 points per game in SU’s wins against Albany and Ohio State, shooting 51.9 percent from the floor, 4.0 rebounds per game and 2.5 assists per game.
SU has opened the season at 8-0 for the second-consecutive year while earning its 28th-straight regular season non-conference win against the Buckeyes.
