Jawan Simmons, who wowed many around CNY with his prowess as a quarterback in his career at Nottingham is taking his talents to Western Carolina. Simmons graduated in June, but went to prep school this past fall. He announced today at Nottingham that he will attend Western Carolina, an option he chose over Middle Tennessee State University.

Simmons says he chose Western Carolina over MTSU because they showed him the most "love" throughout the recruiting process, and they tell him he will play quarterback and will have a chance to start for four years. Middle Tennessee State is a FBS school and Western Carolina is FCS, that doesn't matter to Jawan, who has completed a long journey getting eligible and getting the respect he deserves earning a division one scholarship. Simmons couldn't contain his excitement, and his hard work has paid off, getting to enjoy the moment in front of his family and friends at Nottingham.
