CNY Central Athlete: Katie Cook
EAST SYRACUSE -- This week's Bryant & Stratton College CNY Central Athlete hopes to make history at East Syracuse-Minoa High School this spring.
Katie Cook is a senior goalie for the girls lacrosse team, and after a heartbreaking Section III semifinal loss last year, Cook isn't accepting anything less than a championship in 2011. Coach Andy Reed says she's someone the entire team looks up to for leadership, especially in crucial situations.
That leadership has been clutch so far this season, the Spartans have started the campaign at 2-0 this year and Katie has a combined 21 saves in those two games.
No doubt that leadership will be on full display throughout the spring, and maybe, just maybe, we'll be talking about the Spartans during the State Playoffs in June.
