It was a complete effort from start to finish, and Cornell earned its first win over SU in men's lacrosse since 2007 11-6 on Tuesday night.

It was sweet revenge for the Big Red, who lost the 2009 National Championship to SU in overtime, and lost a heartbreaker in Ithaca last season to the 'Cuse.

Rob Pannell came out firing, netting a hat trick in a game the Big Red never trailed in. Cornell improves to 9-2 on the season, SU drops to 9-1. The Big Red, no doubt will move up from its #5 ranking while SU is unlikely to be #1 after the weekend.

The Orange played the game without stars Tim Desko and John Lade, and late in the contest Joel White had to leave with an injury.

Syracuse is back in action Saturday on the road at Providence, at 4 p.m.
