PROVIDENCE, RI -- Orange senior attackman Stephen Keogh and senior LSM Joel White were selected to the BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll on Monday, April 18 for their performances in SU’s two games last week.
Keogh recorded the 20th hat trick of his career in SU’s 13-3 victory over Providence in the opening game of the New England Lacrosse Classic on April 16. Keogh also tied his career high with two assists to finish with a game-best five points against the Friars. His second-quarter goal was the game-winner, marking the fifth time this year Keogh has tallied the deciding goal. Against Cornell on April 12, Keogh notched a career-best three caused turnovers.
White scored one goal and led all SU players with 10 ground balls last week. He matched his season highs by picking up seven ground balls and forcing three turnovers versus Cornell. Against Providence, he helped anchor a defense that shut out the Friars for the last 50:07 of the game. He also added a goal in the fourth quarter and scooped up three ground balls in the victory.
Notre Dame’s David Earl was selected as the conference’s offensive player of the week after registering four points, including three goals, in a 10-7 win against St. John’s. Irish goalie John Kemp was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week for the second straight week after recording 11 saves against the Red Storm.
White and Keogh lead the Orange back into action on Tuesday, April 19 when Hobart comes to the Carrier Dome. Faceoff is set for 7 p.m.
