It's been a very special couple of days at Alliance Bank Stadium, and it continues Saturday with high school baseball games at the home of the Chiefs, all to benefit "Striking Out ALS". As for Friday's action, West Genesee was able to beat Central Square in the early game 11-6. Erik Krohl and Matt Petrick each chipped in a couple of RBIs and Matt Naton earned the victory. In the nightcap, CBA and C-NS were entrenched in a back and forth battle, with CBA taking a 4-1 lead, but Matt Dykeman of C-NS brought home a couple runs with a triple. CBA would ultimately win it 8-6.
There was other baseball action in CNY on Friday, Bishop Ludden defeated Fulton 19-0, Corey Poplawski and Ryan O'Kane combined for shutout baseball, O'Kane was perfect through three innings, while Poplawski gave up jus three hits. O'Kane also drove in four runs.
In softball, Mexico topped ES-M 3-2, and Cazenovia beat CBA 7-0.
Boys Lacrosse action was limited on Friday, but there were a couple games to report on. Baldwinsville defeated Nottingham with ease 19-3 thanks to a 5-point effort from Casey Colligan and 4-point efforts from Billy Rumble, Colin Gooley, Joseph Delia. Westhill had a grudge match with its rival from Marcellus, but eventually took a 5-4 victory. Central Square triumphed with an 18-2 win over Utica-Proctor thanks to huge games from Justin Croad and Brad Wallace, each with 5 points on the night.
In girls lacrosse, Manlius Pebble Hill defeated Bishop Ludden 6-5, Scarlet Jaworski netted 5 of the Trojans 6 goals in the contest. In a higher scoring affair, Oswego took out Corcoran 23-12, Mikayla Place scored 3 goals to go along with 4 assists.
