To say the Su Lacrosse seniors are multi-tasking this week would be an understatement. Not only are they getting prepared for their first round playoff game against Sienna this Sunday at the dome, but they're also getting ready for their graduation ceremony at the Dome that very same morning.
"I picked up my cap and gown yesterday," said senior midfielder Jovan Miller before practice yesterday, "and Mom was getting emotional, that was kinda funny. But it's been kind of hard to measure the significance of both, but I have to say lacrosse is something we do every day. Graduation is a distraction, but it's probably the best distraction of my career so far."
And while this week is special in so many ways for the seniors, Orange goalie John Galloway says the priority is obvious.
"The guys are more focussed on playing the game against Sienna then walking on the stage, and you know, sometimes your parents don't want to hear that but we're focussed on playing lacrosse. Sunday night is all about lacrosse and not about graduation, and we're focussed on that, and the seniors all know that and the seniors have been preaching that to the others who have been caught up with all the stuff at the end of the year we know how to adapt to it because we've been there before and we just have to work through it the next couple of days."
