SYRACUSE -- The Big East Conference has announced pairings for the 2011-12 Syracuse men’s basketball schedule.

The Orange conference itinerary includes 18 BIG EAST games and features home-and-home series with defending NCAA Champion Connecticut, Louisville and Providence.

For the fifth straight year, each conference team will play the rest of the league members at least once. In addition to Syracuse’s two-game sets, the Orange will host Georgetown, Marquette, Pittsburgh, Seton Hall, USF and West Virginia. The road slate includes Cincinnati, DePaul, Notre Dame, Rutgers, St. John’s and Villanova.

Eleven league members – Cincinnati, Connecticut, Georgetown, Louisville, Marquette, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, St. John’s, Syracuse, Villanova and West Virginia – earned NCAA Tournament berths last year, setting a single-conference record.

Syracuse has a total of 12 conference games against programs that made the NCAA Tournament, including the two-game sets with Connecticut and Louisville.
