It was a hot one at the 2011 Gus Macker Basketball Tournament, but it was well worth it for the 15 champions from across New York State who left with championship trophies. Over 600 athletes competed this weekend at Driver's Village, and over 25 hundred spectators took in the tournament. And with divisions that included all different age categories and skill levels, this year's tourney had a little something for everybody.
"We re-worked it, we beefed up our entertainment schedule, says tourney director Julie Radell, "we increased by about 25 teams give or take, but we have over 600 athletes, we have a lot more of the community involved, so we're just so thrilled by al, the success this year."
