It was just three short seasons ago that the Henninger High School Black Knights won a Section III Class AA Football Championship. While last year marked a down year for the Knights with a 2-6 record, 2011 figures to be more like 2008.

Henninger was loaded with talent last year, living their reputation of being an extremely athletic team. Those players were young, mostly underclassmen though. This year, all of those players are a year older and that's cause for excitement for Henninger Coach Dave Kline (If you don't believe me, click the video player!)

As you can imagine from being Section III champs so recently, any kind of overhaul would be unnecessary for the Knights, instead the approach this year is quite simple. "Back to the basics" said senior Reggie Robinson. "It's as simple as that" he added later.

Henninger opens up the season at home on Saturday, September 3rd against the Auburn Maroons, kickoff for that game is set for 1:00 p.m. at Sunnycrest Park.
