SYRACUSE -- The Syracuse Institute of Technology football team will be a very young team this season, but then again the Eagles program, as a whole, is still a very young team. They could not be more excited to see what they can do on the football field starting this Friday night.
"You wait all year for it," says an excited Head Coach John Cosgrove, "you do the weight training all summer, so it's good to finally get back on the field."
I-T-C showed great potential last season with plenty of talented athletes and some great size, but now in just their 2nd year in existance, Cosgrove says now it's time to translate that into more victory.
"We've got about 47 or 48 guys, 22 are sophomore, so we are real young. We're gonna make mistakes, it's getting them to buy into the system, start believing in it. We've got, I think, enough upper classmen with ability, if we can get those sophomores up to speed we'll be O.K."
