NEW YORK CITY -- Big East Commissioner John Marinatto says he plans on holding Syracuse and Pittsburgh to their 27-month contractual exit obligations.
Pete Thamel of The New York Times is reporting that Marinatto feels confident the league would emerge stronger from the loss of Syracuse and Pittsburgh, but that he doesn't plan on allowing them to head to the ACC until June 2014.
Under their current contract with the Big East, Syracuse and Pittsburgh will also have to pay a $5 million exit fee.
