There's still a long way to go until March, but it's still a very flattering honor.
The Onondaga Community College Lazers Women's Basketball team was ranked #1 in the JUCO national polls. A tremendous honor for Head Coach Mike Wheeler's team who is just two years removed from a national title game appearance.
The Lazers return plenty of sophomore talent, Wheeler says but he adds that the infusion of highly touted freshman could be the much needed boost to get OCC to the promised land.
Of course, the #1 ranking is very nice, but OCC will be put to the test right away. In the team's season opener on November 5th, it takes on the #4 team in the JUCO rankings.
