He's the college basketball analyst SU Basketball fans love to dislike, and ESPN's Doug Gottlieb isn't giving them any reason to change their minds.Gottlieb presented his current top five teams, and he placed Syracuse as # 4 on his list, behind UNC, Ohio State at # 2 and Kentucky at # 1. North Carolina finished just ahead of Syracuse despite already losing 4 games this season, including Wednesday night's buzzer beater loss to Duke. Syracuse, of course, is now 24-1 on the season after Wednesday night's 64-61 win over Georgetown. But according to Gottlieb, it's Boeheim's post game words that helped him solidify Syracuse as # 4 on his list.
"When you hear a Hall of Fame coach say they have problem, he's not happy with his team," said Gottlieb in his TV segment, "he knows his team better than we do, 338th in offensive rebounds allowed. I know they block shots, get out there and run, great in transition, but they've got to fix that if they want to be the top team in the country."
The Orange, who are # 2 on the AP Poll, will take on Connecticut at the Carrier Dome this Saturday at 1 PM.
