SYRACUSE, N.Y. - No. 15/13 Georgetown scored the last five points of the game to hand the Syracuse women's basketball team a 65-62 loss on Feb. 25 at the Carrier Dome.

In her last game at the Carrier Dome, senior Iasia Hemingway led the Orange (17-12, 6-9 BIG EAST) with her fifth double-double of the season. Hemingway finished with 20 points and 15 rebounds on Senior Day. She also matched her career-high with six assists. The Newark native notched her 1,500th point of her collegiate career with her first two points of the game.

Sophomore Rachel Coffey finished with 15 points on five three-point field goals. Coffey has had 11 three-point field goals in the past two games. Junior Kayla Alexander recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Alexander also swatted a season-high eight shots. Junior Sugar Rodgers had a team-high 21 points for Georgetown (22-6, 11-4 BIG EAST).

"I thought we played extremely well today, but we lost the game," said head coach Quentin Hillsman. "I wish I could say it was a lie."

After a Coffey three-point field goal to open the game, the visiting Hoyas scored 10 consecutive points to take a 10-3 lead with 14:17 left in the half. The Orange responded with a run of its own, going on a 13-3 run to take a 16-13 advantage with 9:52 remaining.

Three-point field goals by sophomore La'Shay Taft, junior Carmen Tyson-Thomas (two), and Coffey would give the Orange a 32-27 lead at the break.

Georgetown seized momentum early in the second half and took a 38-37 lead with 13:56 remaining. Another Coffey three-point field goal would put the Orange ahead, 40-38 with 13:46 left in regulation.

SU would hold onto the lead for the next ten minutes until Georgetown would eventually knot the score at 58-58 with 2:30 remaining. A field goal by Tyson-Thomas and two subsequent Georgetown free throws would push the score to 60-60. Hemingway hit a jumper to give SU its last lead of the game, 62-60 with 1:03 remaining.
