Girls Class B teams determined their fates at Liverpool High School on Tuesday night, the winners getting to advance to the Carrier Dome for the final on Thursday. First was the B-2 final of Hannibal and Skaneateles, where Hannibal used a 24-4 run in the game's final few minutes to win 64-51. Senior Allie Taylor led both squads with 23 points, Tayler Sorell chipping in 19. In the loss Emily Call led the Lakers with 18.
In the B-1 final, Westhill faced off with South Jefferson, coming into the game with an undefeated record. But it was South Jefferson ending Westhill's terrific season with a 52-41 win, advancing to face Hannibal in the Class B overall championship in the Carrier Dome.
In Chittenango, undefeated Weedsport battled Fabius-Pompey for the Class C-2 Girls Championship. It was the surprise of the night, as Fabius took a 6 point halftime lead and never gave it up, beating the top-seed Weedsport 53-46. Kirsten Dodge scored 24 in the victory, while Weedsport Brittany and Gabby LaForce combined for 29 in the loss. F-P advances to Class C Championship on Friday at 5pm.
