Oswego hockey earns at-large bid to NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS – The Oswego State men's ice hockey team was one of three teams to receive an at-large bid into the 2012 NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Tournament on Sunday night. The Lakers (22-3-2) will host a quarterfinal game against the Elmira Soaring Eagles (15-8-3) on Saturday, March 10 at 7 p.m. Oswego State won the opening season series over Elmira by the scores of 7-3 and 6-2.

Oswego State is in the same half of the draw as Amherst and conference rival Plattsburgh square off in another quarterfinal game. Norwich received a bye into a quarterfinal game, and will host the first-round game winner of Wentworth and Plymouth State. St. Norbert and St. Thomas (MN) play on Wednesday, March 7 in a first-round contest. Gustavus Adolphus and Milwaukee School of Engineering make up the remaining first-round game.
The semifinal and final games will be played March 16-17 in Lake Placid, N.Y.

Ticket information will be released on the Oswego State Athletics website when it becomes available.
