The Onondaga Community College Womens Basketball team lost in the regional championship in 2011, but the resilient bunch made that loss motivation for 2012.

On Sunday, OCC held off a furious rally from Fulton-Montgomery Community College and took home the Region 3 Championship with a 64-57 victory. OCC led by double digits before the Raiders cut the deficit to one, that's when the Lazers made timely baskets en route to the 7 point win.

Onondaga now finds itself in the National Championships, or the final 8, for the third time in the last four years. They'll leave town next Tuesday for the championships in Minnesota.

Alyssa Gratien, a Jamesville-Dewitt alum was named Region 3 MVP, she scored 23 points in Sunday's championship.
