COLUMBIA, MO (AP) -- Missouri has added Syracuse as its final nonconference opponent in its first season of SEC football.
The Tigers will host the Orange on Nov. 17. The game pits two schools switching athletic conferences, with Mizzou headed to the Southeastern Conference and Syracuse planning to leave the Big East for the ACC, most likely in 2013.
The Columbia Daily Tribune reports that Missouri will pay Syracuse $800,000.
Missouri will play seven of its 12 football games this year in Columbia. That's its highest number of home games since 1987. The game against Syracuse is a one-year deal.
Missouri opens its season on Sept. 1 with a visit from Southeastern Louisiana, then hosts Georgia one week later in its first SEC game.
