As the # 2 SU Basketball Team prepares to create more history in the Big East and NCAA Tournaments, a new comic book is detailing Orange basketball history like never before. The first-ever collector's edition SU Men's Basketball comic book, "THE ADVENTURES OF ORANGEMAN AND ORANGEWOMAN" is a popular item at selected TOPS locations, Syracuse University Book Store, Manny's, and University Sports Shop located in Great Northern Mall and Shoppingtown Mall. The comic book features the greatest moments in SU Basketball history as told by the adventures of superheroes "ORANGEMAN" and "ORANGEWOMAN" and, of course, SU's established mascot Otto the Orange.

"In an effort to help raise funds for the Jim and Juli Boeheim foundation, we collectively developed the idea of retelling the history of Syracuse University men's basketball through a comic book," said Juli Boeheim, "The foundation provides much needed financial support to children in need in the Central New York community, so we thought it would be a great idea for the children to see that they can overcome obstacles and become great just like our superheroes, ORANGEMAN and ORANGEWOMAN."

Only 5,000 total comics were printed in order to truly make it a collectors item. Fans can purchase the comic book online at http://shop.suathletics.com/, while Coach Boeheim has also signed one-hundred of the books to be sold at www.jimboeheim.com. A portion of all proceeds benefits the Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation!

"The Syracuse University Athletics Department, through our 'Cuse Cares student-athlete community service program, are happy to partner with the Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation to reach out to youth with this amazing comic book," said Dr. Daryl Gross, Director of Syracuse Athletics, "Our Athletic Department features extraordinary student-athletes who represent our women's and men's teams. Orangewoman and Orangeman are symbolic of how student-athletes perform on and off the field and representative our strong female and male role models. We believe we can help reach out to youth by having our student-athletes bring positive messages through community service like reading and sharing this comic book."

"Our mission is to help as many kids as possible and make an impact here in our communities", said head men's basketball Coach Jim Boeheim. "With a great season comes great projects, this comic offers children a collectors piece with truly positive messages from myself, our coaching staff and former SU Greats. ORANGEMAN and ORANGEWOMAN with our friend Otto support our team and players; we're excited to have them!"
