Syracuse, N.Y. – Seven players registered at least three points as the top-ranked Le Moyne College women’s lacrosse team posted an 18-4 win over Assumption on Tuesday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

Senior midfielder Brittany Brigandi (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy/UMass) had a hand in Le Moyne’s first three goals as the Dolphins took a 3-0 lead after two minutes and 32 seconds of play. She fed junior attacker Brenna Bauer (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton) at the 28:56 mark for the game’s first goal. Just 30 seconds later, Brigandi registered an unassisted tally and followed at the 27:28 mark with her 22nd goal of the season off a pass from freshman attacker Catie McKay (Penfield, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy).

Amy McNeil got the Greyhounds on the scoreboard with 25:23 left off a free-position shot.

Le Moyne then scored 10 straight goals to close out the half. Sophomore attacker Kathleen Conese (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) netted her eighth of the year with 24:17 left off a pass from sophomore midfielder Jennifer Fabian (Clay, N.Y./C.W. Baker). Only 21 seconds later, Brigandi finished off a feed from junior attacker Kelly Condon (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua). Following an Assumption turnover caused by senior defender Carolyn Barry (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool), Brigandi found the back of the net for the fourth time in the half at the 19:33 mark. Freshman midfielder Anna Daucher (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) gave the Dolphins a 7-1 lead with 18:34 remaining in the half off a pass from McKay.

Junior midfielder Gabrielle Kamide (Deferiet, N.Y./Carthage) became the fifth Dolphin to score by converting a free-position shot with 16:21 left. Off an Assumption turnover caused by sophomore defender Megan Collins (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker), Bauer finished off a pass in transition by Daucher with 11:22 to go. Brigandi then drove from outside the restraining line for her 25th tally of the season with 9:58 remaining. The goal gave Brigandi 168 career points, tying her with Liz Hewitt ’06 for seventh on the program’s all-time points list.

Kamide then recorded consecutive goals to give the Dolphins a double-digit lead. Her 12th goal of the year came off a pass from Condon with 7:43 left, while her third of the game was off a feed from Bauer with 5:14 to go. Daucher capped the scoring in the half with her fifth goal in the last three games after taking a pass from Condon with 3:15 remaining.

Le Moyne extended its run to 12 straight goals by scoring twice over the first 7:06 of the second half. Condon gave the Dolphins a 14-1 lead with 24:42 left off a pass from Conese, who followed 1:48 later with her second goal of the contest.

Steph O’Rourke ended the run by the Dolphins by putting in an unassisted goal with 21:14 remaining in the game.

The Dolphins then got goals from three different players in a span of 6:18 to take an 18-2 lead. Freshman attacker Sam Yaro (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) scored from just off the crease on the left side of the goal off a pass in transition from classmate Julia Suriani (Buffalo, N.Y./West Seneca East) at the 12:56 mark. Two minutes and 46 seconds later, Fabian recorded an unassisted goal, while McKay capped Le Moyne’s scoring with 6:38 remaining.

O’Rourke converted a free-position shot with 3:03 remaining and McNeil tallied an unassisted goal with 1:39 left to finish the scoring in the game.

Senior goalkeeper Kelly Fucillo (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) made four saves in the first half before being replaced at halftime by freshman Molly Marbut (Edgewater, Md./South River), who recorded two saves. Michelle Monahan recorded four saves in between the pipes for the Greyhounds.

Le Moyne (6-0, 3-0 NE-10), which earned 14 of 15 first-place votes in the IWLCA poll released earlier in the afternoon, returns to action on Saturday against 11th-ranked Merrimack at 3:00 p.m.
