It happens every year in the high school calendar, a week off in the month of April for Spring Break. While it's a week off for most students, for the student athletes at Central New York schools it's quite the opposite.

Evidence of that was the renewal of one of the biggest rivalries in Section III.

Liverpool and C-NS battled on Tuesday afternoon on the lacrosse field at Michael Bragman Stadium in Cicero. It was a close game early on, but Liverpool was able to pull away for a 12-3 victory. Logan Thomas scored four times for the Warriors who improve to 2-0 on the young season. It was the second loss for the Northstars, who fall to 3-2.

The first loss of the season for C-NS came at the hands of Christian Brothers Academy who remained perfect this afternoon with a commanding 17-6 victory over Jordan-Elbridge.

Elsewhere in boys lacrosse, Chittenango topped Whitesboro 10-7.

In high school baseball, F-M topped Rome Free Academy 5-2 and in softball Jamesville-Dewitt rolled past Onondaga Central 29-2
