Big Saturday of playoff action in store for Section III lacrosse, softball and baseball

A big Saturday of Section III playoff action is in store, including three boys lacrosse games, three girls lacrosse games, five softball games and two baseball games.

Three Section III lacrosse champions are slated to play in State Regional games on Saturday at C-NS. The action beings at 1pm when Homer looks to continue their magical season against Salmon River. Homer, who knocked off #1 ranked Cazenovia, will be playing their first game as a Section III champ, since 1995.

Liverpool will take the field at C-NS High School at 3PM when they take on Ithaca. Liverpool advanced after a dramatic overtime win over a powerhouse West Genesee squad that boasted ten consecutive Class A titles.

Jamesville-Dewitt will be the final act of the triple-header as they take on Vestal at 6pm. The Red Rams will be making their fourth straight appearance in the New York State Regionals.

Schedule :

1pm Homer vs. Salmon River.

3:30pm Liverpool vs. Ithaca

6pm Jamesville Dewitt vs. Vestal

 

Three section III girls teams will play in State Regional games, including Christian Brothers Academy who will look to improve on its 19-1 season as they take on Owego at 3pm. CBA is coming off an impressive 21-6 victory of Massena.

The Oswego Buccaneers will look to win their 5th straight contest as they take on Vestal. The game is slated for a 5pm start.

West Genesee will look for their eighteenth win in 19 contests as they take on Corning for the nightcap at 7pm.

7PM West Genesee vs. Corning

 

Softball fans are in for a treat, as five Section III title games will take place on Saturday at the Hopkins Road Complex in Liverpool, starting with Christian Brothers Academy taking Altmar-Parish-Williamston at noon. CBA will be seeking their 6th consecutive victory.

The Red Rams of Jamesville-Dewitt will visit Oneida for a 2PM start. The Red Rams will look to build on momentum after defeating Phoenix Wednesday, 9-2.

Hamilton will host Alexandria Bay for a 2:30 first pitch. Hamilton boasts a record of 19-1, where Alex Bay will look to find its 16th victory of the season.

Liverpool will travel to Cicero-North Syracuse .The 4:30 start will be a rematch of an April 5th contest in which C-NS was a 13-6 winner.

At 5PM, Bishop Ludden will take on Sandy Creek.

Softball Schedule:

Noon CBA vs. APW.

2pm JD vs. Oneida

2:30 PM Alex Bay vs. Hamilton

4:30 PM Liverpool vs. C-NS

5PM Bishop Ludden vs. Sandy Creek

 

Bad weather on Friday also pushed the Section III Baseball title games to Saturday at Alliance Park. First pitch of the Brookfield/Oriskany contest will take place at 4:30. Oriskany is looking to end an undefeated Brookfield season.

Cazenovia will take on Westhill in the second championship game slated for 7pm. The two teams split the season series.
