The Syracuse Silver Knights got their exhibition season started on Thursday night against the Baltimore Blast, but the action did not last long. The game had to be suspended after one quarter because of dangerous field conditions.

A representative from the Silver Knights tells CNYCentral that the turf, which is placed on top of the ice at the War Memorial Arena, got too wet. Players from both teams slipped several times on the turf throughout the first quarter before the officials decided to call it a night. The team blames condensation brought on by the unseasonably warm temperatures in Syracuse on Thursday.
