The Sandy Creek Comets will forever be 2012 Section III Champions, but their State Regional game did not end in celebration. The # 1 ranked team in the state Tioga pounced on Sandy Creek early and often in what ended up being a 54-13 season ending loss.

Tioga started the game with seven unanswered touchdowns, including three TD runs each from Jesse Manuel and Tyler Spires, to lead 54-0 heading into the 4th quarter. Sandy Creek finally got on the board when Mason McNitt ran in a seven yard touchdown. Comets' quarterback Kyle Fayette then found Justin Bonney for a 27 yard touchdown pass late.
