The SU Football team is celebrating their first win over a top ten team since 2002 after knocking off 9th ranked, and previously undefeated, Louisville 45-26. Not only was it a huge win to keep SU's bowl hopes alive, but it was a senior day victory for the ages.

"It was fun," said senior wide receiver Alec Lemon, "there was a lot of excitement and a lot of joy. We came out here to play the number nine team in the nation on Senior Day. We came to play and we came to win."

"It was my last game in the Carrier Dome," reflected senior defensive tackle Deon Goggins after the game, "I came in my first year and I didn't play against Louisville in the Dome and then I played in my last game. I always said that on my senior day we would get a win."

And it was the seniors who shined in their last Carrier Dome game, quarterback Ryan Nassib was 15 of 23 passing for 246 yards and three touchdowns. Senior Alex Lemon hauled in nine passes for 176 yards and two touchdowns, while Jerome Smith ran for 144 yards. Smith and Prince Tyson Gulley combined for 242 yards and three touchdowns.

"I am proud of the seniors in this group to be able to go out with the win," said Head Coach Doug Marrone after the game, "obviously some of those seniors played extremely well for us. Obviously, Ryan Nassib and Alec Lemon had great days. Marcus Sales helped quite a bit. Defensively, Shamarko (Thomas) did a nice job."

The Orange took a commanding lead after three touchdowns in the second quarter, while Louisville allowed more points than it had in any game this season.

Teddy Bridgewater completed 36-of-49 passes for 426 and three touchdowns for Louisville in a losing cause.
