DaJuan Coleman hasn't played for the SU mens basketball team since an overtime loss to Villanova on January 26th.
But he could be back very soon.
The freshman center from Jamesville-Dewitt underwent knee surgery in January that was said to sideline him for about 4 weeks.
On Tuesday night, I ran into DaJuan at the Jamesville-Dewitt vs. Bishop Ludden sectional playoff game and asked him how the recovery process is going.
"It's going really well, I think I should be back in like a week it pretty much healed up really fast" Coleman told us.
Certainly, the recovery process is going very well for Coleman, as next week would be four weeks since his knee surgery
"It's been hard work, Just every day I've been exercising, doing a lot of rehabbing with my knee it's getting really strong" Coleman added.
Seeing as how he said "next week" for a likely return, it's pretty unlikely that Coleman would be able to play in the big game against Georgetown on Saturday. However, the Syracuse native is still excited for the final matchup between the two rivals in the Carrier Dome.
"I'm just looking forward to it. I can't wait. Hopefully I can be back when we visit them in Georgetown" DaJuan said of the matchup.
Coleman started all 20 games that he played in so far for the Orange. He was averaging 5 points and 4 rebounds per game before his injury.
