This week's CNY Central Athlete goes to the Westhill Warriors boys’ basketball team for their run at a Section III championship.

The spectacular season continues on for the Westhill squad as they prepare for the Class B state tournament.

Westhill has posted an impressive 19-2 record this season under head coach Kevin King. King’s hoopsters’ most recent victory came against Skaneateles in the Class B sectional title game, where the Warriors took home the championship banner with a 63-51 victory.

The Warriors are led this season by sophomore Jordan Roland. This sophomore sensation is averaging 22.2 points per game and an astounding 27 points per game in the playoffs thus far. Roland has surpassed the 30-point mark four times this season and Westhill could use another tremendous performance from the sophomore in the tournament.

Westhill earned a date with Section 4 champion Norwich. The Warriors will take the court this Saturday at Onondaga Community College at 6:30 p.m. for the state regionals.

Congratulations to the Westhill boys' basketball team for being this week's CNY Central Athlete and good luck to the Warriors this weekend.
