LAFAYETTE -- Eric Hertel has achieved, perhaps, baseball's most impressive single game achievement.
The junior at LaFayette, who plays on the combined baseball team at Onondaga Central, tossed a perfect game over the weekend.
An impressive feat to be sure, but Hertel's humble attitude makes this even more incredible. We asked him about the perfect game, and his response was that he "only" struck out 8 batters so he must've had great defense behind him.
Certainly an attitude that will carry him far, but more importantly it will help carry the Tigers far. And no matter how far OCS goes this year, the entire team will always remember Hertel's perfect game.
