SYRACUSE -- Following his 903rd win, SU head basketball coach Jim Boeheim weighed in on fellow SU coach Doug Marrone getting interest from multiple NFL teams.

Boeheim said Marrone is a great coach, and that Marrone will make a good decision after the "unbelievable" job he's done at Syracuse the last four seasons.

"I'm not surprised, when you're talented, people are going to inquire about you," Boeheim says. "I hope he's here, I hope he stays here, I hope it's the right place for him."

Boeheim said seven weeks ago people were calling for Marrone's job, and likened it to himself when people have told him to play man to man defense (Boeheim is famous for his 2-3 zone). Finally, Boeheim finished by saying he himself tried to sell Marrone on staying with Syracuse.

"I did have him over to my house the other night," Boeheim says. "I tried to convince him that Syracuse was better than Hawaii...or any other place. I don't know if he believed it."
